Do I need to sort my recycling?

No, all recycling can be combined in the same container; you do NOT have to keep anything separate.

How do I change the size of my refuse/recycling can?

You may request a different size refuse or recycling can when you submit your New Resident Form to City Hall. Please do not overfill your trash can. Additional garbage tags are available at city hall for $4.00 for a 30# bag of trash.

Lions Park & Sportsman's Park both have pavilions available to rent for events. If interested, please visit the park's webpage for the rental form and instructions.

Do I need a dog license?

All dogs over 4 months old must be licensed with the city. Complete a Dog License Form and submit it to City Hall with proof of vaccination and the license fee. The city also recognizes a leash law - no dogs are allowed to roam at large.

What are the requirements for lawn maintenance?

All property within the city must maintain turf grass lawns and eradicate noxious weeds. Maintenance includes mowing all the way to the street or road. Lawns must not be taller than twelve inches. Enforcement of this requirement is suspended each year during the month of May to participate in the "No Mow May" movement to support native pollinators.

Does Clearwater have an odd/even sprinkler schedule?

Effective June 1st. – August 31st the city recognizes the odd/even watering ban. If your house # is an odd number, you can run your sprinklers on the odd days of the month, an even house # on the even days of the month. All water used will be subject to sewer rates unless you have a separate meter for your outside water usage. A second water meter can be purchased through the city.

Are there winter parking restrictions or a snow removal ordinance?

According to the snow removal policy, the City of Clearwater will remove snow from City streets after 2 inches or more have accumulated. ALL vehicles need to be off the streets. Vehicles that are not moved will be towed away at the owner's expense. It is the responsibility of the owner or occupant of any property adjacent to a public sidewalk to clear it within 24 hours after the snow fall. If you notice the fiberglass marker that extends up from the hydrant is missing, please contact City Hall so it may be replaced.
