Understanding Your Utility Bill
The City of Clearwater is committed to providing quality water and sewer services. The cost of maintaining water and sewer infrastructure is covered by utility fees collected from city utility accounts. Customers are billed monthly. Utility payments are due on the 26th of each month.
There are several items listed on your utility bill and we want to help you understand them. Charges include both base fees, metered charges, and other service fees. Please view the sample bill for an explanation of the fees listed on your utility bill. For current rates, please see the City Fee Schedule.
If paying your bill at City Hall, by mail, or in the City Hall dropbox, please include the tear-off portion of your bill with payment. If payment is not received by the due date, a $15.00 late fee is charged to the utility account. Utility bills may also be paid online using Payment Service Network, which is our 3rd party vendor for online payments to your utility account.
For rental properties, utility billing accounts remain in the name of the property owner, per City Code § 38-52. – Accounting, billing and collecting.
