Hydrant Flushing
Clearwater Public Works will begin flushing all city fire hydrants starting the week of June 9 as part of our annual preventative maintenance program. Hydrant flushing is a critical process that ensures all hydrants, valves, and water mains remain in optimal working condition. It also helps improve water quality by clearing out sediment and debris that may have built up in the system over the winter months.
What Residents Should Know:
- Avoid using water (especially for laundry) while hydrants are being flushed in your area. Doing so may draw discolored water into your home.
- If you experience discolored water, run cold water from a faucet for 15–20 minutes. If the water doesn’t clear, please contact city hall at 320-558-2428.
We appreciate your patience as we complete this important task to maintain the reliability and safety of our water system.
